Take the Year of Code Challenge!

Coding is easy to start learning, especially with the amazing, fun activities provided for Hour of Code at Code.org.

Join Waterloo Region residents in taking the Year of Code Challenge by spending an hour (or less) doing coding puzzles. Kids can do an hour by themselves or together with their parents. Discover how stupid computers are and why you need to tell them every little thing!

To get started, click on the Hour of Code image below, and at the site pick a puzzle using Star Wars characters, Anna and Elsa from Frozen or even Minecraft. When you complete the puzzle (and it could easily take less an hour, especially for kids), complete the pledge form below and help us fill a map of challengers across Waterloo Region!

All completed pledges in March are eligible to win a Year of Code Waterloo Region t-shirt!
